I have been using the N1000 unit hardwired and it works awesome. The wifi is the issue.

I will be purchasing a Roku2 XDS unit soon.

I do utilize the Netflix part (I also get the DVDs in the mail) but the music, podcasts, and educational programming (almost all free) are well worth it. I did sign up recently for the Hulu Plus, but that’s just to catch up on the weekends with television I may have missed during the week (I had a “No Ordinary Family” impromptu marathon last Saturday). I have the ROKU connected to my wireless network and it works great. I do need to upgrade to the HDMI cable for the full-HD signal, but right now the component (red, white, and yellow) picture is fantastic. With the entry-level ROKU box at $59, it does offer a nice alternative to cable.
