Wildwood Walk on 121209.
Today was a combination day of a hike/walk in the park combined with a tour of the Manor House at Wildwood Park.
The weather was a little chilly when we started, but with clear skies and no wind – it quickly warmed up.
The Manor House is the former home to Robert A. Stranahan, one of the founders of Champion Spark Plug. He built the house in 1936. It has 35 primary rooms, 17 bathrooms, and 16 fireplaces. In the basement level, there is even an indoor firing range!
Every year for the holidays, various rooms are decorated and the public is invited for a free tour. Volunteers help to keep the public “moving left” and flowing through the house.
It was an enjoyable tour and I look forward to visiting again next year.
